What You Worrying For?

While trying to get prepared for this life changing trip God has been working in everything around me. People were (are) constantly asking me about the money. Questions like, "Do you have all the money you need?" "How much money do you need?" "How much does this cost?" "How much does that cost?" Constantly having to answer all these questions with usually an "I don't know" or "I'm not sure." was starting to cause some concern to rise up in me. I was starting to think "Okay God, any time now, you can put the money there. If you want me to go then the money gotta be there." But every time I started to doubt God, He would give me a little wake up call and tell me to stop worrying and tell me "Tori, I've got this. Let me handle it." So I didn't have a choice but to put it out of my mind and let God have it. And unfortunately this wasn't a one time occurrence, it happened quite often and God had to constantly remind me of His power. (Thankfully God has waaayyy more patience then me). So time was running out and money was starting to be due for more than one thing. AND I  still had a bunch of supplies that I needed to go and get. Again, I was starting to get a little weary and wondering if everything was going to start falling into place. Now, let me just tell you how mind-blowing God truly is. Because as I type this, I currently have all the support I need. All the money I need has been provided. And there are still people giving me money. God provided. Plain and simple, GOD PROVIDED. There was nothing that I did that caused this to happen. No, what caused this to happen was the passion that God placed on certain people's hearts to make things happen. And a church family who loves me and knows that I am supposed to GO..no matter what. My church decided to give me the rest of the money that I needed. Wanna talk about feeling humbled? Loved? Speechless? Words cannot describe how I feel. Just thankful. and honored. Why do we continue to worry about things that we have no control over? Why don't we put our trust in the God of the Universe?!? Why do we continually want control and have to have everything planned out perfectly? Why can't we just let Him be God? Why do we waste our time worrying? I feel like I have had this lesson about 12 times since I was told that I was going to Swaziland. Each and every time God has proved to me that HE IS IN CONTROL. This title was semi stolen from my BCM director Monet Heyward. One of her favorite verses is Matthew 6:34. It says, " Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Monet likes to say, "Why you worryin' for?" And she's right. Why are we worrying?? WHY? When Jesus tells us not to because He is the Ruler of Universe and He is in control. It's time that we as Christians starting letting God be God and let Him handle our lives because God's Got This.
